I took my 1985 truck to them as I needed the carburetor repaired so that it would pass emissions. I already knew what the problem was because I was provided this information at the emissions station. Chris at Brown’s told they needed to do a "diagnostic check" first-then-they would email me the all estimates and any other information. They kept it for two days, I never received an email. When I finally talked to Chris, he gave me same information I already knew about the problem and said they could rebuild the carburetor for $500+, which is almost double what I eventually paid to get the work done somewhere else. I feel that the inflated “diagnostic” was a real rip off, I won’t return. It is a shame, because Brown’s has been around for a long time and most of the reviews are good, but I feel burned and wasted $200 on a diagnostic I did not need and got really poor service.
