Rio Rancho

P.S. As a Post Script to my earlier review, it should be noted that ALL feedback Shows 5-STARS. Which shows a continual 5-Star Rating for ALL Reviews. Which is misleading for potential customers. I indicated a 2-Star Rating. However the 5-Star rating appear to be permanent for ALL REVIEWS. Instead of only looking at STARS, if a few moments to actually READ the Reviews my choice for service would more than likely have been altered.

Being very much impressed with the several positive reviews, I was confident that selecting service would be very good. However, after two visits for the same service I thought that maybe I was being somewhat paranode. After holding on to a mail-promotional flyer without an expiration date, I called to make an appointment with the price on the flyer verified. I kept my appointment, but was quoted a higher price for a semi-synthetic oil change. As requested, I left my vehicle and returned in the afternoon with the promotional flyer. My vehicle wasn't ready, and I was assured that the promotional-price would be honored if I re-scheduled. I did re-schedule. and waited 3 1/2 hours for the oil change, and it was also discovered that I had a flat on one of the tires. Nevertheless, I was now informed that my vehicle required full-synthetic oil for a Total Charge of $100.+ dollars. When inquiring about honoring the promotional flyer that I had earlier referenced, a date of the flyer was now implied (which was not on the mailer). After finally agreeing to a $10.00 discount, I paid $100.+ for an Oil Change and a Flat Tire Repair, with a promised concession. Not very good Customer Service with virtually nil' appreciation.

I called Browns as soon as they opened hoping to get my brakes looked at after 10 other places didn’t have room. They were extremely friendly, and squeezed me in that morning. They sent an email with a detailed inspection that was easy to understand, and didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t need. In fact, I told them about issues that I thought I had, and they explained that they actually weren’t an issue. My car was done by the end of the day, and everyone was friendly and helpful again when I picked up my car. I would recommend Browns to anyone and will absolutely be using them in the future!

Honestly, I would definitely recommend this place. In dire need of fixing my truck they handled it with professionalism. And best of all communication was excellent.

Rio Rancho

I'm so grateful for their service. I went in for brake service, but found a few other things that needed work as well. My car is running better than it has in a long time, and I didn't feel like I was being up sold on anything. Ed was really helpful and kind.

Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque

I do not recommend this shop whatsoever. Came in January originally (to the golf course location) because my car kept dying (with a relatively new battery put in) and we mentioned that we believed it was an issue with the alternator, because multiple people also told us this when we described the problem. Brown’s told us that they would run some tests to check out the issue, later calling us back and diagnosing it with a faulty battery. We felt relieved that the battery was the only issue so we gave them the go ahead to replace it, they also replaced the battery terminal cables. When we got the paperwork back after they finished the repairs, the “tests” that they ran stated that the “Alternator is working as designed” and Henry also mentioned that there were no issues with the alternator. We were charged $559.83 for the total repair (crazy amount). The car had been used very minimally after due to the fact that we were trying to sell it. After 2 months, on March 21st, we bring the car to another Brown’s location on 7702 4th street for the same issue of the car dying. We get quoted $1,300+ tax to replace a “completely dead alternator”, stated by the front desk worker, Eddie Brock. We find out that the “tests” that the first location ran for $187.60 after tax, showed nothing and were completely useless. The second location ran a similar test but they specifically looked at the electrical circuits and finally found the issue with the alternator, charged us $160.41 after tax. When we declined the offer to replace the part for $1,300+, Eddie’s tone instantly became aggressive and rude over the phone. In the end we came to pick up the car and only payed for the diagnostics test. I have never experienced such disrespectful and humiliating treatment, as well as false statements from an auto repair shop and I do NOT recommend this company to anyone in New Mexico.
